Abdelkarim’s experience is derived from the planning, development, and delivery of megaprojects in the energy, chemical, marine, infrastructure, nuclear, and manufacturing sectors. He is currently focused on growing the portfolio of capital projects for Bechtel’s Manufacturing & Technology business. He initially joined Bechtel’s corporate venture capital group focused on evaluating and investing in technologies with the purpose of designing and building multi-billion assets faster, safer, and more sustainable.
Abdelkarim holds a BSE from Duke University. Through an appointment by the Governor of Virginia, he serves on the Board of Trustees of GENEDGE (part of the National Institute of Standards & Technologies) as well as an advisory committee member for the congress-supported Virginia Manufacturers for Strategic Industries
