The European semiconductor industry still faces significant issues. The large majority of fabs produces specialised devices on 200 mm and smaller wafer sizes. This guarantees the survival of our industry but it also means that the installed base of equipment must be maintained and supported with limited OEM support, in particular when it comes to solving problems related to obsolescence of (electrinics) parts and tools.
